Nice to meet you.

My Approach

I practice using a warm, client-centered approach that considers the individual within their unique biopsychosocial context. I view the therapeutic relationship as the most important tool in fostering insights that can be used to create change. My goal as your therapist is to meet you where you are and support you in discovering your own inner wisdom. I believe that you are the ultimate expert on your life and have the power within you to live a life that you love. I am merely a guide along the way.

My Education and Training

I attended UC Berkeley for my undergraduate education, majoring in English. I translated my love for deeply empathizing with literary characters to my love for understanding and connecting with “real” people, leading me to pursue graduate education in the field of psychology. I received my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, CA, researching the relationship between the horror genre and resilience for my dissertation. During the course of my studies, I trained in a variety of clinical settings, serving a diverse population of children, adolescents, and adults in a variety of modalities. I completed my predoctoral internship at Alameda Family Services and my postdoctoral fellowship at WestCoast Children’s Clinic. I also currently provide assessments and supervise doctoral students at Savera Psychological Services in Oakland, CA.

Practice Details

Sessions and Fees

Therapy sessions are conducted virtually in 50- or 80-minute intervals for individual or couples sessions, respectively. Frequency of therapy sessions will depend on the concerns to be addressed but will typically occur weekly. My fees are currently $225 for individual sessions and $300 for couples sessions.

Assessments are conducted over the course of multiple sessions: an intake, 1-2 testing sessions, and a feedback session. Collateral sessions will be conducted as needed. An estimate for services will be provided during the consultation and range from $4000-$6000.

Initial Consultation

After you contact me, I will reach out to schedule an initial 15-minute phone consultation at no charge. During this call, we will discuss your concerns and determine if my services are likely to meet your needs. In therapy, it’s important that both parties feel that there is a good fit and connection. If either you or I feel that I may not be the right provider for you, either during the initial consultation or in the sessions that follow, I will provide you with appropriate referrals.

Payment

Payment will be due at the time of service unless otherwise arranged. I accept payment via credit card and will charge you promptly after services are rendered. I do not let clients accrue a balance, so services will be paused until payment is received so that you do not incur further debt.

Insurance

I am not currently contracted with any insurance providers and am considered “out-of-network”. I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. You can call your insurance provider to discuss what coverage they will offer you under your plan.

Cancellations and Lateness

Please let me know if you need to cancel or reschedule a session with 48 hours notice. If you are not able to provide at least 48 hours of notice, the full session fee will be charged. If you are running late, please provide me with notice if you are able to. If you are more than 10 minutes late without providing notice, I will assume you are not able to meet and will charge the full session fee.

No Surprises Act

Under the law, if you are not using insurance to pay for healthcare services, you are entitled to a “Good Faith Estimate” of the total expected cost of any non-emergency services. I will provide this to you upon initiating services, and you may ask for a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling any service with me.
